About the Role We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Children's Services in Bury. This is a vital role where you will make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people, providing them with the support, care, and guidance they need to thrive. As a Support Worker, you will be an integral part of their daily lives, helping them to develop independence, engage in positive activities, and feel safe and valued. This permanent position offers a varied schedule across days, nights, long days, twilights, sleep-ins, and waking nights, totalling 40 hours per week. A key aspect of this role is driving; therefore, a full UK driving licence is essential to enable you to support children and young people in accessing community activities and appointments. Key Responsibilities • Provide person-centred care and support to children and young people, promoting their independence and well-being. • Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, as required. • Plan and facilitate engaging activities, both within the home and in the community, utilising your driving skills to ensure access. • Support children and young people in achieving their individual goals and aspirations. • Maintain accurate records and provide clear reports on progress and any observations. • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care. • Act as a positive role model, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.
