Responsible Individual (RI) – Children’s Residential Home Company: Catherham Lodge Location: Ilford, IG5 0QA Rate: £350 – £550 per day (depending on experience) Commitment: 2 days per week About Us Catherham Lodge is a children’s residential home committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care in a safe and nurturing environment. The Role We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic oversight and ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain high standards of care, governance, and compliance, while supporting the ongoing development of the service. Key Responsibilities Act as the Ofsted-registered Responsible Individual for the service Ensure the home meets all regulatory and legislative requirements Provide oversight of safeguarding, quality of care, and service delivery Support and challenge the Registered Manager to drive continuous improvement Monitor performance, audits, and compliance systems Lead on Ofsted readiness and inspections Liaise with Ofsted, local authorities, and external stakeholders Ensure effective governance and accountability across the service Requirements Significant experience within children’s residential care Previous experience as a Responsible Individual or Registered Manager Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent) Proven ability to achieve and maintain good or outstanding standards Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills What We Offer Competitive day rate (£350 – £550 depending on experience) Flexible part-time commitment (2 days per week) Opportunity to influence and shape a growing service Supportive and professional environment Apply Now If you are an experienced RI or senior leader looking for a flexible opportunity to make a real impact, we would like to hear from you.
