About the Role We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our Children's Services team in the East Midlands. As a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing, and positive atmosphere, helping children and young people develop their skills, confidence, and independence. We offer a variety of contract types including permanent, temporary, fixed-term, and bank positions, with flexible shifts covering days, nights, long days, twilight, sleep-ins, and waking nights, providing a diverse and engaging work pattern. Full-time hours are available at 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities The core of this role involves providing direct support to children and young people, assisting with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. You will be responsible for: • Supporting individuals with their personal care needs, where required, always promoting dignity and respect. • Engaging young people in educational, social, and recreational activities, both within the home and in the wider community. • Helping young people to develop independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and managing personal finances. • Implementing care plans and risk assessments, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. • Maintaining clear and accurate records of observations, progress, and any incidents. • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic support. • Acting as a positive role model, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting positive behaviour.
