Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Company: Catherham Lodge Location: Ilford, IG5 0QA Salary: £32,000 – £46,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time, including shifts, weekends, and on-call duties About Us Catherham Lodge is a children’s residential home dedicated to providing high-quality, therapeutic care for young people. The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, leading the team, and maintaining high standards of care. Key Responsibilities Support the Registered Manager in managing the home’s daily operations Lead, supervise, and support residential staff to deliver high-quality care Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews Assist with staff training, supervisions, and performance management Promote a positive, safe, and structured environment for young people Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership during shifts Requirements Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (preferred or willingness to work towards) Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting Experience in a senior/supporting leadership role (e.g. Senior Support Worker or Team Leader) Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements Excellent leadership and communication skills Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential) What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Clear progression pathway to Registered Manager Ongoing training and support towards Level 5 (if not already achieved) Supportive management structure Pension scheme Apply Now If you are ready to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.
