Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home Together Care Group | Hope House, Leeds LS4 Pay: £14.75–£15.75 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus £69 for each sleep-in completed. Sleep-in payments are additional to hourly pay. Together Care Group is recruiting compassionate, reliable and experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to join our team at Hope House. You will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, lead shifts and help colleagues provide consistent, high-quality care in a safe and nurturing home. Key responsibilities: • Safeguard children and promote their welfare. • Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a consistent role model. • Lead and coordinate shifts, including planning activities and allocating responsibilities. • Ensure staff follow individual care and placement plans and respond to children’s changing needs. • Oversee key-worker responsibilities and the delivery of individual support. • Promote positive behaviour through clear boundaries, routines and encouragement. • Support, supervise and develop colleagues. • Maintain accurate records, review reports and prepare information for meetings. • Work closely with families, social workers and other professionals. • Represent the home at reviews and meetings when required. • Support the management team and deputise for senior colleagues when needed. • Attend training, supervision and team meetings. • Work flexibly across the agreed rota, including weekends and sleep-in duties. About you: • At least 12 months’ relevant experience working in a children’s residential home. • The ability to lead, motivate and support a staff team. • An understanding of safeguarding children, child development and the needs of children in care. • Knowledge of the standards, policies and procedures relevant to children’s residential care. • Strong communication, organisational and recording skills. • The ability to remain calm, use sound judgement and seek support when needed. • Compassion, honesty, reliability and a commitment to treating every child with dignity and respect. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, a relevant Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification or an accepted equivalent is desirable. Experienced applicants without the appropriate qualification may be considered but must be willing to complete it. A full UK driving licence is desirable. Training and regular supervision will be provided to support your development. Start date by agreement, subject to satisfactory recruitment checks.
